Reminiscent of my childhood, this desert continues to top all tea time deserts! Making it recently for my son’s 4th birthday, it hit home that my mum’s recipe is by far the best crunch I’ve ever tasted. It’s chocolatey, chewy, crispy and so incredibly moreish! When chocolate crunch is around there is nothing you can do to stop you from devouring it!

Makes approx. 20 bite size pieces

Ingredients:

  • 200g. Bournville chocolate cut into small pieces
  • 200g. cornflakes
  • 100g. butter
  • 6 tbsp. golden syrup

Method:

Melt the butter, chocolate and golden syrup in the saucepan over a low heat. Put the cornflakes in a large bowl. Stir the ingredients together gently using a wooden spoon. Transfer chocolate crunch into a low baking tray, even and flatten it out and put in the fridge to set. When set, cut into bite size pieces and it’s ready!

It is as simple as that.

Voilà
