Inspired by Jay Shetty

Take a moment to reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and mental weight. Do you feel heavy and tired? Don’t worry you’re not alone! The media, social, and mainstream are constantly leading our thoughts to a downward spiral of negativity. To top that off, we push ourselves even deeper into it by:

  • Comparing ourselves to other people, especially on social media
  • Asking ‘if only’ questions.

The good news is that when we identify our mental weight, just like body weight, we can perform specific exercises and start removing the excess baggage!

I recently listened to this amazing podcast episode by Jay Shetty and here are the 4 exercises which I am 100% sure will help you:

4 Exercises To Lose Mental Weight:

  1. Mental Diary

Write down all activities you did last week. Write down why you felt good and what you would change.

Create a mental diet plan

What do you listen to every day?

What do you watch every day?

What do you read every day?

Who do you talk to every day?

2. Bring yourself to the present moment, focus on your surroundings & list:

5 things you can see

4 things you can touch

3 things you can hear

2 things you can smell

1 thing you can taste

3. Mental Challenge:

Daily challenge yourself with this simple exercise:

Ask one new question every day to learn something new.

Let’s get that brain moving peeps and lose that weight!
