Culottes are AUTUMN’S most CONTROVERSIAL COMEBACK. This is deffo going to be one of fashion’s most POLARISING TRENDS.
After several years spent gathering dust in your grandmother’s attic, culottes are staging a comeback of the highest fashion order. It started in March, with Hedi Slimane’s sophomore collection. Heidi had given culottes the lead role in the first look out on the runway. The message was clear, a new statement piece had swung. From swishy mid-length ones, slouchy denim ones and straight-legged ones to leather, heritage prints and disco sequins.
Culottes are actually incredibly versatile (pair them with an oversize knit or a sleek crop top, for example), can be worn with just about every shoe style, from boots to sneakers to ankle-strap heels, and are far less intimidating to wear than you may initially think.
