For the past couple of summers sunspots have found their way to my skin! And now, quite frankly, I fear them! It took lots of whitening treatments throughout the winter to fade them out. Looking forward to summer so desperately all I’m thinking about is for my sunspots to stay away because I’ve worked so hard keeping them at bay. Because this skin condition produces discolouring, it’s important to pay close attention to it and use the right skincare products, especially during the hottest months.

As we all know the first thing you need to do is wear sunscreen daily. You should apply it at least every three hours, and an SPF of at least 30. Throughout the year, I use Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution Day Screen Multi-Protection SPF 50 – Translucent.

This product perfectly protects my face without causing any rubbery bits to appear from all the creams that are layered underneath. I absolutely love it. It is the one product I cannot live without!

Saying that  ULTRASUN Face SPF50+ Anti-pigmentation is for my beach bag. It’s great protection, a little thicker in consistency and doesn’t work well under all my face creams but it works very well under direct sunlight.

Both of these SPF’s prevent premature ageing and form a long-lasting protective barrier.

Products containing Vitamin C also help keep sun spots at bay. I have been using ELEMIS’s  White Brightening Even Tone Serum and it does help reduce the appearance of uneven pigmentation but eliminating them is extremely difficult. So look after your face before they even begin to appear!

Whitening treatments help a great deal. Thanks to the powerful properties in this kind of therapy, I find that they help to whiten spots and, what’s more, nourish the skin with the essential vitamins it needs to look younger and fresher.
