Halloween has shot to my number one on my list for seasonal house decorating. I have begun to love it due to the excitement brought to me by my youngest. I have no idea why he has become so obsessed with the idea because let’s face it, here in Cyprus we don’t make a hoo ha about it, but, obsessed he is, and his excitement has spread into the family fold. Getting into the Halloween spirit doesn’t have to mean giving up your sleek design cred—it’s possible to get into the spooky vibe without forfeiting style. No tacky plastic skeletons and inflatable spiders, I mean. Whether it’s cute pumpkins (and if they are glittery, there is no doubting that that’s what Alexis’ choice would be) or fun pillows for the couch, I love those little accents that make it feel like Halloween.
However, if your goal is a more refined Hallow’s Eve aesthetic, then swap the cliched carved pumpkins in favour of something a bit more thoughtful this year. I have decided to go for a more grown up palette, steering away from anything childish and not asking for any help in the décor domain.
From whimsical white wisteria to autumnal wreaths, here are some decor ideas to inspire your Halloween home aesthetic which have helped inspire me too. Alexis can stick to the arts and crafts and ghostly biscuits this year!
