They call it the holistic health triangle! Studies show that sacrificing one side of the so-called “holistic health tringle” (exercise, nutrition, sleep) has negative effects on your overall wellbeing. If you never miss your exercise class, detox, eat healthily and still feel there is something wrong, then have a look at your sleep patterns.

Most of us need 7 to 9 hours of sleep but a large portion of people don’t get enough rest at night. Sleep deprivation leads to hormonal changes leading to weight gain and leaves you feeling tired and having difficulty concentrating the next day.

To ensure a good night’s sleep try having a cup of relaxing tea at night like lemon balm, valerian or chamomile.  Also add foods that are rich in magnesium to your diet, as magnesium helps you relax and improves sleep. Try adding oats, almonds, bananas, avocados, spinach, pumpkin seeds and even some dark chocolate to your diet and see your sleep improving magically.
