“Anything is possible with a touch of pink!”

In French, Rosé means “pink,” and in wine-language, it means pink wine. On some occasions, people think of it as candy like, with bubble gum flavour. However, it is for sure a serious wine drinker preference. Do not let the pink colour fool you into enjoying seriously good wine. Instead, Rosé to the occasion and enjoy a deliciously versatile wine that can elevate every moment!

  • How is Rosé made?

With the exception of some Champagnes and some New-World wines, Rosé is made from red grapes, either in blend or as a single varietal. Rosé wine gets its colour with its contact with grape skins. This process is called maceration. Think of it as tea, which colours the water. After grapes are crushed, their juice is left soaking with their skins until the desired pink colour is achieved. The skins are then separated from the juice and the fermentation process commences.

  • Why Rosé?

This style of wine spans from red to white. Rosé resembles the flavour profile of a light red wine, by combining the much-loved white wine qualities: lively acidity and a  refreshing blast of red berries and crisper tasting notes. Hence, the perfect word for a rosé wine is charming!

  • Aromas and Rosé:

Red fruits (strawberries, cherries, raspberries), blossoms and flowers, citrus, summer

  • Food and Rosé:

Rosé has a superpower: its mouth-watering zing of acidity makes you want to take more sips, hence when paired with food, it sets you up for another bite!

Incredibly food-friendly, you can pair rosé with almost anything. Here are some excuses to share a bottle:

  • Spicy foods
  • Sushi and seafood
  • Salads or grilled vegetables
  • Roasts
  • Mezedes
  • Picnic or barbeque delicacies food (fish, chicken, meat)

In other words, its adaptability regarding food pairing represents the magic of what wine-and-dine is all about!

  • Rosé All Day, every day?

Come Summertime life should be easy-peasy. Rosé limits the decisions and makes life simpler.

In Fall we need a sweet reminder of our summer memories paired with aromas of a summer breeze.

Winter, well I am sure we can use the boost of red fruits and crisp finesse on a casual stay-in evening.

Spring, should I even go into detail? The Golden hour is once again doable. Toasting with a glass of Rosé, counting down days for summertime, pink is what you want to drink!

See you next week!

Until then.. Strike for a glass half full !
