Life is short, so wear your party pants, and well Part-ay!
While having in mind that we want to keep it classy, what better choice than serving W-I-N-E to your guests? At the end of the day, wine and friends are a great blend.
Find below our 3 go-to options/strategies to throw the (wine) PARTY of the YEAR!
Option 1 – Go all the way with bubbles:
A party without Champagne, is just a meeting. Champagne is always a great way to get festive and let’s face it, a few bottles of Bollinger never hurt anybody.
Saying that, I understand the above comes with a price so kick in your party mood with a good quality dry Prosecco, a delicious Cava or a lovely Cremant d’Alsace, made in the same way as Champagne, but for a fraction of the price.
Option 2 – make life easy, go for 1 white 1 red:
Some people drink only white. Others, may drink only red. Although we might not agree on that (thumbs up), it is important to have one of each to serve.
For white, go for a widely popular one, that way you have a higher chance of keeping the majority satisfied!
We may love a good Alsatian Gewurztraminer but it is believed to be a wine that you either love or hate. We certainly don’t want that to happen!
Go for a Sauvignon Blanc if you are in for a crisp, lemony flavour with mouth-watering acidity. Choose a Chardonnay, if you like a full mouth-feel, lingering, creamy finish. Meet in the middle with the italian Gavi di Gavi: juicy & fresh, with a perfect balance of pros between the 2 above mentioned varieties.
For red, again consider one which is more likely to be known by your crowd. Go with a fruity Pinot Noir from California. A Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina or an Italian blend beauty from Valpolicella. All 4 are a pleasure to drink! Afterall, you will need something to “enhance” and not to overwhelm the food you will be serving.
Option 2+1 – Rosé to the occasion and go for 1 white, 1 rose and 1 red:
Rosé wine is a major wine category all over the world. It is a blooming, deliciously versatile wine that can elevate every moment and can satisfy serious wine lovers!
It can also be a great pair to finger food, mezedes and all kinds of party-style nibs and bits!
Extra tips:
- Go for wines that don’t need much explanation and are not fussy.
- With a little knowledge and know-how, you can charm even the most discerning palates.
- Stick to a budget as it is a serious decision-making factor.
+1 Trust your palate – show others what you are passionate about your food and drink choices and dance your night away!
See you next week!
Until then.. Strike for a glass half full !
