It’s finally getting warmer and warmer by the minute, and I couldn’t be happier! It really is the best season for overall mental health improvement due to continuous sunlight resulting in Vitamin D build-up. Yey!
Even though we live on a sunny island not all of us have the proper Vitamin D intake needed! Vit D is needed to keep the body functioning well and to support strong bones. If our reserves are running low we might suffer from muscle weakness, fatigue and depression. But instead of turning to supplements its far better to stay as natural as possible and carefully but attentively plan some sunlight exposure which will result in Vitamin D accumulation! But you will need SPF. A good SPF.
Today is all about our fav sunscreens which we have tried and feel they deserve your attention! At this point it’s important to say that with sunscreens there are two main “categories” – the chemical ones and the mineral ones. Both options are as good as eachother shielding the skin from the harmful effects of the sun’s UV rays but in very different ways.
LA ROCHE-POSAY – Anthelios Ultra-Light Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50
An ultra-light formula with 100% mineral UV filters, matte finish fluid developed for sensitive skin. This zinc oxide sunscreen, also with titanium dioxide, is formulated with Cell-Ox Shield® technology: broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection with antioxidants. Furthermore, it is noncomedogenic and doesn’t have that SPF smell.
MURAD – City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 | PA++++ (my current favourite)

AVÈNE – Mineral Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50+
One more 100% mineral sunscreen which offers daily broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection in a lightweight lotion. HELIOCARE – Advanced Gel SPF 50 (Maria’s current favourite)

Letting the heat of the sun bathe your face for at least 15’ a day, will definitely help you feel more grounded and your mental world will positively benefit!
