The first time I tried Kristiana’s choc tart, I knew I had to have the recipe – I couldn’t get enough. Created ideally for adult chocoholics, this rich desert is the ‘ultimate’ go- to tart for pure indulgence. It came and found me in a beautiful box, a perfect way to deliver a home-made cake to someone. Loved the idea. Thank you so much Kristiana.

“Ultimate Dark Chocolate Tart” Ingredients:

For the tart shell:

  • 300 g. Whole wheat cookies
  • 100 g. Butter
  • 100 g. Dark chocolate couverture

For filling:

  • 250 ml Fresh cream
  • 500 g. Dark chocolate, cut into small pieces
  • 100 g. Unsalted butter, melted

 

Method for the tart shell:

Beat the cookies in a food processor until finely ground. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Remove from heat and add the chocolate couverture. Stir with a spatula until the chocolate melts and is completely combined. Add the ground cookies and mix well. Transfer mixture to a 28 cm spring form pan. Use a glass to press the mixture onto the bottom and sides of the pan, until nice and compact. Refrigerate until you make the filling.

 

Method for the filling:

Heat the fresh cream until it almost comes to a boil. Put the chocolate and butter in a bowl. Add the heated heavy cream and start to whisk with a hand whisk until the mixture becomes glossy and silky. The ganache is ready! Pour it over the tart shell. Set it aside to cool completely, sprinkle some dark chocolate shavings on the top and then refrigerate to chill.

 

Voilà

 

 

Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the top and enjoy. Chocolate nirvana!
