My head of hair has been through alot: short, long, highlights, shaved…you name it, I’ve done it!!! Not everything looked good on me, but I didn’t really care at the time. I wanted to try every look that I found interesting, regardless if my face shape guaranteed a failure!
Even though I’m a huge supporter of getting any haircut, whenever you want, it’s always better if you consult your face shape prior to deciding on a look. If you take into consideration your facial features, you’ll be a little more confident with the result and it might give you some peace of mind as you sit and wait patiently for the hairdresser to finish the job.
Of course the first step is to identify your face shape. Tie your hair up and try taking a photo of yourself facing the camera. You then have to observe the outline of your face to see which shape it most closely looks like.
If you’re not sure about your face shape, you could try measuring your face with a tape. You should focus on the widths of your brow, cheekbones and jaw line, and the length of your face from forehead to chin, to find its proportions. Don’t worry – I’ve got you covered: just pay attention to the facial features as explained in the next paragraphs and you’ll be able to identify your face shape in zero time!
