Who said glasses and being face fit don’t go together? Nonsense…all it takes is a simple readjustment of some of your makeup habits to include your frames in the final look. The trick is to work with them and not around them.

Whether glasses are used due to necessity or they are just ready-to-wear readers, at the end of the day they make us feel smart and rather stylish. Quite often though, many of us feel that many of the eye looks we used to wear or would like to wear are not appropriate with glasses. With just the right steps though your eyes can look more noticeable even behind them and if you love makeup and love drawing attention to your eyes, you definitely don’t need to stop wearing it just because you are wearing your frames.

Go lighter than darker

If you want to wear eyeshadow opt to use a light earthy shade as dark eyeshadows tend to magnify dark undertones around the eyes, causing them to look tired and somewhat swollen. Use the eyeshadow all over the upper lid adding a touch of shimmery on the middle of the lid.

Eyeliner all the way

Don’t be afraid to use an eyeliner! Just make sure you line both top and bottom lash lines and that the line on the top lash covers the entire eye – thinner on the inner corner and thicker on the outer one. This will give dimension and definition to the eyes. Also note that you need to adjust the liner thickness to match the thickness of your frames. In other words, the thicker the frames, the thicker your liner should be so that your eyes stand out and your glasses don’t overpower them. The key word here is balance!

Mascara my love

Nothing can stop me from using mascara…not even a pair of glasses. So what you need to have in mind prior to putting it on is the need to curl your lashes to prevent them from hitting the lenses (…awkward).  In addition, choose long-wearing formulas that won’t smudge on your lenses and remember to use it only on the top lash which will give you a “bright-eyed and bushy-tailed” look.

To conceal or not to conceal?

The answer to this question is a definite yes! You might think that your glasses have the ability to hide any under eye imperfections but unfortunately they don’t. Instead they might even enhance them. To avoid this, always remember to use a good concealer at least two shades lighter than your skin tone to help lighten any darkness. A concealer is the one product that can immediately lift and enhance the face and in this case you can use an eye brightening concealer and then set it with some powder.

Brow…wow (by Benefit)

Last but not least you need to remember that glasses draw attention to the eyes area so never forget to groom your brows, filling in any holes with a brow pencil or shadow!
