October…Breast Awareness Month and we feel ‘ pink lippy’. Although I’m not that bold when it comes to wearing colour on my lips, pink is the perfect color for every occasion. I know you probably think ‘no way’ because Barbie doll springs to mind but wearing pink doesn’t necessarily mean fuchsia pink. The trick with this colour is being able to pick the perfect shade for you, establishing your skin tone for guidance and knowing your undertones. ‘What on earth is an undertone’? Your undertone is the colour underneath your skin and to determine your undertones you can just check out the colour of your veins on your arms.
Fair skinned beauties with blue veins point to pink undertones, so you should be looking for a true baby pink shade. I love Clinique Pop Liquid™ Matte Lip Colour + Primer in Petal Pop. Medium Skin Tones with green veins indicate more yellow undertones and so I love pinks that lean towards brown and caramel. Finally, women with a deeper skin tone unquestionably glow in bright colors, so don’t hesitate to go bold! Choose a bright pink with magenta or fuchsia undertones my favourite being MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous – the perfect electric pink shade.
