Strawberries, cherries and an angel’s kiss in spring, are some of the things my summer wine is really made for!

Rising temperatures should not prevent us from enjoying our favourite wine!

Here are 3 go-to wines that can definitely be enjoyed chilled in summer 🙂

Domaine Porto Carras, Assyrtiko – the Macedonian beauty:

A crisp, white wine from Halkidiki made from the Greek grape variety “Assyrtiko” is a bright straw blonde colour. It has a delicate citrus aroma, honeyed fruits, roasted nuts and lemon-curd. Its zesty, lemony acidity and mineral character make it the perfect choice! Enjoy it along with fresh seafood, shellfish and/or a fatty grilled fish.

Best served at 10° C.

MASI, Rosa Dei MASI – the Supervenitian Rosé:

A fresh, fruity rosé wine, yet complex and elegant at the same time thanks to the use of the appassimento method.

Made from “Refosco” grape variety, it has salmon pink, cherry-coloured reflections. It has intense aromas of perfectly ripened raspberries and wild cherries. From the first sip you can tell it is an elegant wine, well balanced with lively and refreshing acidity. Amazing as an aperitif and with antipasti, light pastas, shellfish and seafood.

Best served at 10° C.

Paladin, Salbanello – the chilled red:

A blend of the delicate softness of “Malbec” and the rich “Cabernet”, this wine can be served chilled and enjoyed throughout the year!

Perfect for every occasion, it has a bright red colour and is very aromatic as it reminds you of freshly cut strawberries, currants and raspberries. It has a soft velvety taste and is perfectly balanced with an off-dry illusion. Great pairing for traditional Mediterranean dishes and being that it is a light-bodied red it can satisfy red-wine lovers, during hot summer periods!

Best served chilled, almost like white wine, at 10-12° C. Try it, you’ll be impressed!

See you next week!

Until then.. Strike for a glass half full !
