Parenting teens (I’ve got 2 hovering around that twilight zone) and it’s not as horrifying as it has been made out to be, well at least not yet! You get to laugh a hell of a lot. My ten going on teen is funny and smart and I can see glimpses of her adult self. She is beginning to tune into her gifts and passions, and I feel the most absurd pride about who she is becoming and the changes taking place right in front of my eyes. But the demands have got insanely intense. She has been cajoling us for the past year to make necessary changes to our home. Not only does she want an on suite bathroom (fair enough because she’s been  sharing with two boys who leave traces of their everything behind) she wants a completely re decorated bedroom, teenage style. That means, goodbye to princess bed, Lalaloopsys and any traces of my little princess which I had control over.

The beginning of this summer has proven to be the beginning of a headache. Our home is currently a building site and all because Princess N wants her own headquarters. The upside of this whole living in a messsituation actually is that we are both looking extremely forward to decorating her room even though I don’t particularly have that much of a say.

First and second time round it was mummy cool who was the one and only decision maker, from pink baby room to toddler/preschool princess room. This third time round mummy cool is being told in no uncertain terms what is required, is receiving endless pins on Viber and is fighting for her voice to be heard and although there are clouds of dust, a persistently demanding daughter and a list of cool teenage bedroom ideas, we are having fun!

Look what we’ve come up with:

Which bedroom ideas do you like?
