Prosecco is an Italian Sparkling wine, made in Veneto and Fruili, from the Glera grape variety, also known as Prosecco grape. Recently it’s been extremely popular!

So different from Champagne, in terms of both quality and flavour but a good alternative and a more economical solution to enjoying your bubbly! The price for a quality prosecco ranges from 10-15 euros per bottle so you can easily get into double trouble!

Generally, the majority of Prosecco wines are produced in a dry, brut style. Saying that, their fresh aromatic character sometimes make them feel sweeter than they are, even though you can easily identify notes of green apple, honeydew melon, pear, and honeysuckle.

Always served cold at 4-7 °C, it’s a wine that allows you to experiment. It is the perfect ingredient for a proper brunch mimosa, where you mix 2 parts of Prosecco and 1 part orange juice. Likewise, you can try mixing it with different kinds of juices, such as peach, apple, pomegranate, cranberry, strawberry etc. …And there you have it, your very own homemade, effortless cocktail that will elevate your everyday afternoons, to a happy Venetian Aperitivo hour!

Prosecco is surprisingly versatile! Not only is it an aperitif but an amazing palate cleanser when combined with medium-intensity dishes; these can include shrimps, chicken, even pork.

This trend is here to stay so double the bubbles and have it more often!

See you next week!

Cheers, Santé and Yiamas…

Until then.. Strike for a glass half full !
