When I was young, I vividly remember my mum bringing a new TV package to the house that could stream foreign channels and one of those new channels was Fashion TV. Occasionally I would see the backstage chaos of fashion shows and sometimes a super quick interview of the key Make Up Artist explaining the look and the inspiration behind it. I used to think that it was the coolest thing on earth and was fascinated by all the stunning, super creative make up. The make up looked different, unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. No one on my small island wore make up like that.  I was so confused yet intrigued on how their make up looked so much cooler than what I’d ever seen. I dreamed of being amongst all those incredibly talented artists creating iconic looks with them.

Fast-forward 15 years later, life got me exactly where I wanted to be; in the middle of fashion week chaos. I love the adrenaline, meeting other make up artists, observing how other people do make up, what they use, how they use it, getting inspired by techniques, looks, colors, textures. Even the adventure of traveling to other cities for shows is thrilling. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do what I love, and I recognize that not everybody finds their passion. However, for me it’s not just fun and definitely not easy. I’m still young, starting my career now and fortunately or unfortunately the time where I need to prove myself to others in order to secure a place in the team. I’m learning to appreciate the journey and as much as I can along the way.

Here are a few of my favorite runway looks ever, this might just inspire! Make up is a fascinating art form, not just something you routinely do every morning.
