The Tabata method was inspired by Japanese scientist Dr. Izumi Tabata, who developed this method for cyclists. Each exercise in a Tabata workout lasts for 4 minutes and consists of 8 rounds of 20 seconds working and 10 seconds resting. It sounds quite simple but it’s likely to be the longest 4 minutes ever endured.
Scientifally proven to reinforce endurance, the Tabata method also empowers the metabolism to work up to 36 hours after training. It really is a fantastic opponent when it comes to losing body fat.
The main idea is to push yourself as hard as you can for 20 seconds, rest for 10 and complete 8 sets of each exercise.
Tips:
- Choose exercises you are familiar with
- Don’t choose complicated exercises. Go for simple exercises and perform many repetitions within 20 seconds.
- Don’t forget you only have 10 seconds to go to the next exercise.
- It’s a high tension kind of exercise, so your limits should be taken into account (every individual has different limits)
