Christmas day is here! Yeah!!! Enjoy everyone and have yourselves a Merry Merry Christmas!

Eating, drinking and partying though will take its toll out on us and our skin, leaving it looking dull, tired and quite frequently dehydrated. How are you to stay radiant and fresh? We’ve got you covered!

The first thing you need to remember is to try and keep your skincare routine simple. Even though its colder now you shouldn’t fall into the trap and pile on the creams thinking that you are moisturizing your skin. Too many products simply clog up your pores, leaving you prone to breakouts. So make sure you cleanse and tone your face daily.

Take care of your skin PROPERLY especially after a crazy night out. If your skin isn’t properly cleansed, you run the risk of bacterial build-up which will cause unwanted breakouts. Micellar water is an easy, quick solution to ensure you remove the make-up and avoid clogging up pores with unwanted dirt.

The next thing you must bear in mind is to keep well hydrated. Increased alcohol intake dries the skin and then you run the risk of getting fine lines and wrinkles. Make sure you drink plenty of water during the  day to give your complexion a healthy boost.

Pamper your skin ladies… try to make time to give your skin that extra boost either by applying a face mask or going for a facial. The same way your body needs exercise, your face needs its ‘exercise’ too!

The party season also means lots of late nights. Try to get enough sleep as this not only keeps your body well-rested, but also allows skin to rejuvenate itself naturally.

Before applying your make up for a night out, lay on extra illuminator BEFORE your foundation. Once you finish you will definitely look like you’ve dived into a pot of fairy dust but once you add your foundation on top, that silly looking sparkliness will blur out to a perfect, ‘lit from within’ look that makes your skin look fresh and moisturised.

And last but not least it’s important you look dewy and not powdery since this only makes you look dull, even more tired and definitely more dehydrated. Apply a lighter textured foundation – one that reflects light – and helps minimise fine lines. If you need to use powder use one that is light-reflecting – these generally give a glowier finish that’s less “flat” and do so in moderation, applying it only where really needed.

Till next week…

Merry Christmas
