This recipe is an all-time favourite for those after the ultimate quick and easy dessert. Cat’s Apple Crumble is one of a couple of versions I am going to share with you. Served often at this time of year, a serving of apple crumble and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream or a drizzle of custard is always the perfect choice for a dinner party.

Place the cut apples in an oval oven dish. Add the lemon juice (this helps the apples not go brown) the 1-2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon according to taste. Mix well so ingredients evenly cover the apples.

In another bowl add the flour, sugar and butter and with your hands, softly mix by “rubbing” the mixture against itself to create a crumbled effect. Once the three ingredients are mixed together and crumbled, cover the apples coating them completely.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 c ° for approximately 45’ or until the desert gets a golden colour.

Serve with vanilla ice cream or custard (optional).

It is as simple as that.
