Tasting one of Mrs. Marika’s scrumptious oat bars at the hairdressers, I knew I had to have the recipe. Healthy, delicious and filling, these bars are ideal for satisfying that sweet tooth craving. A lover of all things sugary, finding a healthier a version which is just as good as a Cadbury’s dairy milk is difficult but these did the trick☺
Jot it down:
For approx. 10 people
Ingredients:
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 0,5 cup butter (Vitam Greek butter)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 100gr Cadbury Bournville cut into pieces (or classic dark chocolate)
- 2 cups of porridge oats
- 1 cup of dry coconut
- ½ cup of dried dates
Method:
Add the peanut butter, Vitam butter, honey and chocolate into a heat proof bowl and bain marie until melted into a liquid form. Then add the porridge oats, dry coconut and dates. Stir until evenly mixed together. Place the mixture into a baking tray making it into a thin layer. Sprinkle some dry coconut on the top and put in the fridge for 30 minutes or until cool. Cut into bar like pieces and serve.
It is as simple as that.
