This summer’s makeup trend is very simple and easy to do. It doesn’t require many skills just feeling comfortable wearing a vibrant lip colour! Last year’s trend had us all wearing ombré shades on the eyelids and a more nude colour on the lips. This year some of the biggest trend setters have gone a little more ‘hassle-free’ and created the sunset makeup, which basically simplifies the look on the lids by using eyeshadows and liners in sunny yellow, marigold, or copper and so the colour-changing aspects of a remarkable sunset are represented without looking bright. Combine a vibrant lip colour in shades of hot coral, or orange-red and the result will be ‘red carpet’ worth. Bear in mind that in order to avoid any unwanted clown associations, eyes must have a ‘wash’ of the chosen colour so the lips can stand out.
Tips to find the right colour combination:
- For fair-tones, a raspberry or berry shade usually warms up the skin tone and can easily be combined with a copper shade on the eyes.
- Olive skin tones look great in more orange hints and true reds and can be combined with a bronze shade on the eyes.
- Tanned or deeper tones and neutral shades can pick from the whole range. Just make sure you try different shades to find the right one.
