How to use facial oils properly

I used to dread facial oils. Even the thought of putting oil on my face made me cringe because I believed they were too heavy for my skin. However, there were different factors I did not take into consideration, such as the the variety and quality of oils as well as the application process.

After a lot of research, trial and error, I came to the conclusion that facial oils should only be mixed with water-based serums, and I’ll explain why. Our skin is made out of water and oil. Therefore, it needs these two elements to keep it balanced. You can’t just use one over the other because your skin will either feel tight, because it lacks water, or flake off and have dry patches because the skin lacks oil.

So let me suggest a few serum-oil combinations that work efficiently on different skin types and skin concerns.

Skin Types.

Normal/Oily skin:

Overly oily skin lacks water(dehydrated). Your skin rushes to produce more oil just to make up for the absence of moisture. That’s why I recommend a 70 to 30 ratio, 70% being the water-based serum and 30% the oil. Dry skin:

Dry skin lacks oil, so the ratio could be 50-50 this time. If you have dry skin, you are lucky in the sense that you can use pretty much most oils (that are natural and organic of course!). Brighter complexion/rough texture:
