This week carnival hits Limassol and my recent make up lessons have all been about recreating different decades, up until the 80’s. It’s been super fun and I can’t wait for you to see what I’ve been up to. Hope to put you in the mood, inspire and help you out with my tips.
Look no.1 – 1920’s
Decade’s idols: Josephine Baker and Coco Chanel
To get the look:
• Very light makeup base
• Concealed eyebrows with a thin line drawn over them
• Dark eye shadow and blended eyeliner in the inside of the bottom lash line
• Small dark lips, burgundy or plum
Look no.2 – 1930’s
Decade’s idols: Great Garbo, Marlene Dietrich and Amelia Earhart
To get the look:
• Light make up base
• Thin eyebrows
• Dark brown eye shadow and fake eyelashes
• Dark lips, burgundy or plum
Look no.3 – 1940’s
Decade’s idols: Ingrid Bergman, Bette Davies and Judy Garland
To get the look:
• Natural make up base
• Natural eyebrows but defined with a light brow pencil
• Light eye shadow, eyeliner and light mascara
• Light lips, soft red
Look no.4 – 1950’s
Decade’s idols: Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe
To get the look:
• Natural make up base
• Coloured and defined eyebrows
• Winged eyeliner and mascara
• Light blusher
• Red lips
Look no.5 – 1960’s
Decade’s idols: Jane Fonda, Twiggy and Mia Farrow
To get the look:
• Natural make up base
• Colourful eyeshadows (blue, green, purple) I opted for a white Twiggy look
• Eyeliner in the crease of the eye socket and on the eyelid
• LOTS of mascara (clumpy in a way) and drawn eyelashes on the bottom lid
• Light blusher
• Light peach/pink lips
Look no.6 – 1970’s
Decade’s idols: Patti Smith, Lauren Hutton and Farah Fawcett
To get the look:
• Natural make up base
• Colourful eyeshadows (blue, green, purple) or au-naturel
• Fake eyelashes
• Light blusher
• Lip glossed lips
Look no.7 – 1980’s
Decade’s idols: Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Kim Wilde
To get the look:
• Natural make up base topped with a powder to make it look sun-tanned
• Natural, thick eyebrows
• Colourful eyeshadows
• Intense blusher
• Pink/red lipstick
