This quarantine has definitely offered me lots of free time which I like to think I’ve been using quite productively. Besides doing the obvious which is cooking and spending quality time with my family I’ve also had time to research certain things that I’d heard or read about. One of them is the Peeling Marin Range by THALGO!
I got to know the brand through ATTICA Spa when my beautician Maria suggested I try a couple of samples. I’ve been using the Collagen Cream, Collagen Concentrate and Collagen Eye Roll-On for about 3-4 months now and I am absolutely loving them. Recently adding to my regime I ordered their Peeling Marin line.
The Peeling Marin Range currently has 4 products for customer use; the Intensive Resurfacing Night Serum, the Micro-Peeling Water Essence, the Soothing Repairing Balm and the Peeling Marin Sunscreen Spf50+. I chose to try the first two since I already have my sunscreen and in place of the repairing balm I chose the Hydra-Marine 24h Cream.
INTENSIVE RESURFACING NIGHT SERUM & MICRO-PEELING* WATER ESSENCE
The combination of the Night Serum and Water Essence is truly amazing at bringing out the best in your skin and trust me when I say this- I have tried plenty of upmarket serums of the same kind. The great thing about it is that even though both have glycolic and gluconic acids needed for the peeling process, they are derived from 100% natural biotechnological fermentation of Micronised Marine Algae. What this means is that the products are not harsh or full of chemicals which allow an effective peeling to occur while at the same time being kind to the skin leaving no redness or unwelcomed sensitiveness whatsoever! In addition to this, the percentage difference in the concentration of acids allows them to work perfectly together!
The Intensive Resurfacing Night Serum exfoliates and refines skin texture offering intensive exfoliation, with a cumulative effect to stimulate the renewal of skin cells.
Active ingredients: a high dose of [5%] Acids from Fermented Micronised Marine Algae with lactic acid peeling effectiveness and [10%] AHA/PHA Complex (Glycolic & Gluconic Acids) thus this is only a night serum.
The Micro-Peeling* Water Essence smooths and refines the surface of the skin offering a gentle micro-exfoliation for a gradual ‘new skin’ effect.
Active ingredients: a [3%] concentration of Acids from Fermented Micronised Algae and a [1.5%] concentration of Glycolic and Gluconic
According to Thalgo, these two products should be used for a course of 21 days in order to get the desired results. After using them for 21 days myself, I can honestly say, yes! Thalgo is right. I saw results from the first 2-3 applications. My skin regained its luminosity almost immediately, feels and looks more moisturised and appears to be absorbing everything else I add to it much better.
My humble and honest opinion on THALGO products is that they deliver what they promise. As we get older everything changes but as a good friend once told me, let’s at least get old gracefully!
